I don't know about you--but sometimes a plain salad just isn't enough for me. I knew tonight was going to be one of those nights...and I had to think of something QUICK (I was hungry) lol! My go-to ideas are tuna or grilled chicken...but lately I've been playing around with this....a sweet & spicy shrimp recipe that it super quick and easy. Here's what you'll need.
1 Serving
6 Fresh or frozen shrimp (I had frozen, pealed, detailed raw shrimp)
1 clove of garlic
1 Tbsp. liquid aminos (a healthier alternative to soy sauce)
1 tsp. chili power
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. of sesame seeds
Step One: Thaw shrimp by running cold water over them for 5-10 minutes

Step Two: In a separate bowl, mix chili powder, liquid aminos (or soy sauce) , garlic, ginger, and brown sugar together. Play around with the amounts of each ingredient here. If you like sweeter, use more brown sugar (maybe add some maple syrup), or use less chili powder...each time I make this I do it a little differently. =)
Step Three: Thoroughly coat thawed shrimp with the spice mixture, then pan fry until the shrimp curl nicely and are fully cooked (should be completely pink).
Step Four: Add sesame seeds, mostly of the liquid should be gone at this point, for crispier shrimp, flip at this point and let sit for a minute or two.
Step Five: Add to your favorite salad (or enjoy plain)! Here, I have my typical salad that I fix with greens, dried cranberries, and un-salted sunflower seeds.
Step Six: Enjoy!
